Terms of service
Terms of service
These terms apply when you buy from authenticlahori.com. Please read them – they are short, and written to be readable rather than impressive. Nothing in them takes away rights the law gives you as a consumer.
1. Who you are buying from
This store is operated by Authentic Lahori Foods LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17367849, registered office 15 Coldcotes Avenue, Leeds LS9 6NA, United Kingdom. In these terms “we”, “us” and “our” mean Authentic Lahori Foods LTD, and “you” means the person placing the order.
Contact us any time at info@authenticlahori.com.
2. Who can order
You must be 18 or over and ordering as a consumer. These terms are written for consumers. If you are buying to resell or for a business, contact us first – different terms apply.
3. Our products
We sell culinary spice blends in sealed 250g pouches, available singly and in multi-pouch packs.
Ingredients, allergen information and the best-before date are shown on the product page and on the pouch itself. Please read the allergen information before ordering, and again before cooking. If you have a food allergy or intolerance and anything is unclear, email us before you buy and we will answer.
Product photography is representative. Spices are a natural product, so colour and aroma vary slightly between batches. That is normal and not a fault.
4. Prices and payment
All prices are in pounds sterling (GBP) and are shown in full on the product page. UK delivery is free on every order, so the price you see on the product page is the total you pay. There are no other charges.
Payment is taken through Shopify’s checkout, which handles your card details securely. We never see or store your full card number.
Payment for preorders is taken in full at the time you order, before your goods are dispatched. We are telling you this plainly because it is unusual and because you should know it before you pay, not after. What you get in exchange is an unconditional right to cancel and get your money back at any time before dispatch, and for 14 days after delivery. See clause 6 and our returns policy.
We try hard to keep prices accurate. If we spot a genuine pricing error on an order we have not yet dispatched, we will contact you before doing anything, and you can either confirm at the correct price or cancel for a full refund. We will not simply charge you more.
5. When your order becomes a contract
Adding items to your basket and paying is an offer to buy. The contract is formed when we send you an order confirmation email. If we cannot fulfil your order – for example if stock does not arrive – we will tell you and refund you in full.
6. Your right to cancel
You have a legal right to cancel a distance purchase within 14 days, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. The period ends 14 days after the day your goods are delivered, and it exists from the moment you place your order – which means on a preorder you can cancel at any time during the wait.
There is one limit, and it is a food-safety one: we cannot accept the return of a pouch whose seal has been broken, because an opened food product cannot be resold. Sealed pouches can always be returned within the window.
So we give you something better than a return. Under our first-pouch promise, you can open a pouch and cook a dinner with it, and if you do not rate it, email us within 14 days of delivery and we will refund what you paid for that pouch. You keep it – nothing comes back and you pay no postage. The promise covers one opened pouch per order, and we give it to you on top of your legal rights, never instead of them. Full detail is in our returns policy.
This does not affect your rights if something is faulty, damaged or not as described. Full detail, including how to cancel and how refunds work, is in our returns policy.
7. Delivery
We deliver to United Kingdom addresses. Delivery timings, costs and the preorder dispatch expectation are set out in our shipping policy, which forms part of these terms.
Goods are your property, and your risk, once they are delivered to the address you gave us.
8. Your legal rights
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 the goods we supply must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If they are not, you are entitled to a refund, replacement or repair as set out in our returns policy. Nothing in these terms limits those rights, and no term here should be read as trying to.
9. Things that are your responsibility
Please store the product as described on the pouch, use it before the best-before date, and check the ingredients if you have allergies. Spices are an ingredient, not a medicine – we make no health or medical claims about them and none should be read into our marketing.
10. Our liability
We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987, or for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude – and that includes our core obligations under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Beyond that, we are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms, and we are not responsible for loss that is not foreseeable.
11. Your account and your data
You do not need an account to order. If you create one, keep your login details to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has them.
How we handle your personal information is set out in our privacy policy.
12. Marketing emails
If you sign up to our emails, including through any welcome-discount offer, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email. Discount codes are single-use per customer unless we say otherwise, cannot be combined with other offers, and we may withdraw an offer at any time – but never on an order you have already placed.
13. Things outside our control
We are not liable for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as extreme weather, courier strikes, customs delays or supply failures. If one happens, we will tell you and you can wait or cancel for a full refund.
14. Complaints
Email info@authenticlahori.com and we will reply within 2 working days and try to resolve it.
15. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms, our prices and our offers – including free UK delivery – at any time and without notice. We will not send you a notification when something changes, so the version published on this page is always the current one, and it is your responsibility to check back here for the latest. This is never retrospective: the terms that apply to your order are the ones published at the moment you placed it, so any change we make afterwards can never affect an order you have already made.
16. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can bring court proceedings in the courts of the UK nation you live in.
